Common Bug Exclusion
Active bug infestations require an exclusion service to get rid of the pest from inside of the building. Common bug exclusions typically take 30 minutes to complete and can be scheduled within a 2 hour window if necessary. A 90-day warranty will be provided should all necessary areas be treated and the client complete their responsibilities. Receiving a warranty will be determined by the BC technician performing the service.
Common bugs include: Ants (including carpenter ants), Asian/lady beetles, boxelder bugs, centipedes, clover mites, crickets, earwigs, flies (including cluster flies and drain flies), ground beetles, millipedes, silverfish, sowbugs, spiders, springtails, water bugs, and western conifer seed bugs
Bed bugs, fleas, cockroaches, and other difficult to control pests can be excluded under a different service.
What clients can expect during this service:
- Inspection
- Interior treatment of areas with high pest activity and common entry points (baseboards, under appliances, drains, window frames, etc.)
- Exterior treatment (if applicable, includes windows, foundation, eaves, peaks, decks, railings, etc. per the technician’s discretion)
- Notification of control inhibitors such as food debris
- Notification of extensive entry points that may need to be repaired by the client or a contractor to prevent re-infestation and in order to receive a warranty
Please note: Treating windows may leave a cloudy waterdrop residue on the glass. Once the product dries, it can be wiped away. If a client chooses to wipe away any product on the glass, they should make sure to not scrub any treated areas on the trim or structure as that may render the treatment ineffective. Not treating windows may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment and may void the warranty.
Other things clients should know about this service:
- All of the products used dry quickly and are pet/kid-friendly once dry
- BC’s technician may use baits, bait stations, dusts, aerosols, granules, or liquid products pending the infestation
- BC’s technician may ask clients to stay out of treated areas for a certain period of time after this service is completed
- Once this service is completed, dead bugs can be vacuumed or swept away
To receive a warranty on this service, please do not clean treated areas for a minimum of 14 days. Doing so will render the treatment ineffective and void the warranty.
