Flea & Tick Treatment

This treatment is designed for before and/or after the mosquito season to knock down that first wave of fleas and ticks in early Spring or lingering fleas and ticks in late Fall. All of Bug Commander’s (BC) mosquito control treatments also help control fleas and ticks during the regular season.

Important things to know about BC's flea and tick control services:

  • BC provides quotes based on measurements taken via satellite imagery – BC’s team will determine the best treatment area for control while allowing for the client’s preferred treatment areas (including driveways, trails, firepit areas, etc.)
  • This treatment is kid and pet-friendly once dry
  • A flea and tick treatment should provide at least an 80% decrease in fleas and ticks compared to untreated areas
  • There is a warranty for these services should the client not see an 80% decrease in flea and tick activity (limited to 10 days after a treatment)
  • This treatment rain-cures once dry and eventually wears off after a 4-week period
  • Any pets and people that go beyond the treatment barrier risk bringing in fleas and ticks from untreated areas

What to expect before a flea and tick control treatment is applied:

Prior to the first treatment, clients need to inform BC of any areas they do NOT want treated or how to access certain areas (Examples include near honeybee hives, gardens, berry bushes, or behind gates). BC will keep this information on file and will need to be notified of any changes moving forward.

BC will schedule this treatment and contact the client via email and/or text about a week prior to this service visit. Because of the many variables in the services BC provides, routes are scheduled to best accommodate BC technicians. Requests for specific days or times cannot be guaranteed, including being on the same rotation as a family member, friend, or neighbor. Upon request, BC’s technicians can call or text clients prior to arrival.

BC is always watching the weather before, during, and after scheduled service visits. If rain, snow, wind gusts, or high heat are in the forecast, BC may move up the service, push the service to the following business day, or time out that service to avoid these conditions.

Tip: BC recommends keeping the lawn mowed to help control fleas and ticks in the yard. Clients can mow before or after a flea and tick treatment is performed.

What to expect during a flea and tick control service:

  • Please shut all windows and stay indoors during this service
  • Please keep pets inside or put them away prior to service
  • 1 or 2 technicians will spray the lawn and other tick/flea harboring foliage on the client’s property (this treatment can be completed quickly with 2 technicians)
  • Please wait until the treatment dries before returning to the treated area (this usually takes 30 minutes to 1 hour pending weather conditions)

Please note: Clients are not required to be present during this service since the treatment is completed outside. BC’s technician will leave a doorhanger with more information after this service should the client not be present.
