Why fly traps?
Outdoor flies are notoriously difficult to control. In the past, BC used an additional product in the mosquito control mix to help control flies which gave varying results. To provide a better service, fly traps were tested and the results were significantly better.
Important things to know about BC's Fly Invaders package:
- This service is designed to reduce black fly, house fly, soldier fly, bottle fly, and flesh fly activity outside
- BC cannot guarantee effectiveness for horse flies or deer flies
- This service does not prevent Mayflies or Fishflies from landing on structures – BC’s structural bug prevention services can help prevent Mayflies and Fishflies from getting caught in webs and leaving residues on buildings
- This service does not come with a warranty or guarantee for control due to hatch cycles and fly movement
- Farms and ranches are excluded from receiving this service
- Fly traps will vary in design year after year
What to expect during each Fly Invaders service:
Scheduling: BC will schedule each visit and contact the client via email and/or text about a week prior to each service visit. Clients are not required to be present during the installation, maintenance, and removal services since these are completed outside. BC’s technician will leave a doorhanger with more information after each service should the client not be present.
Installation: Around early/mid June, 1 – 2 technicians will install commercial grade fly traps strategically around your property (typically attached to trees and far enough away from outdoor gathering spaces because they can smell bad as they fill up)
Maintenance visits (minimum 2 required): Around mid-July and mid-August, 1 – 2 technicians will replace the full traps (please contact BC to request additional maintenance visits, which will incur additional cost)
Removal: Around early October, 1 – 2 technicians will remove the traps for free once the fly season has ended
